We’ve all found ourselves awake too late, turning one more page of a book, caught in the glow of a good idea or story.
The Nightlight Society was inspired by that moment.
We host intimate gatherings—readings, workshops, salons, and shared quiet hours—for people who stay up late thinking, reading, and imagining. Our gatherings take place online and in person (mostly in San Francisco).
At The Nightlight Society, we aim to examine interesting ideas in a different light and create illuminating experiences...ones that leave you feeling more grounded, more inspired, and more connected: to yourself, to others, and to something deeper.
What we do
We organize everything we do into seasons, which center around a core theme. Through our seasonal program, we'll explore thematic 'arcs' from multiple angles across our readings, evenings, dispatches, and studio productions.

Open after hours for those who read past closing time. Come for a chapter or stay for a while. Bring your own book or borrow one of ours. A quiet time to slow down, tune out, and disappear into the page.
Evenings are simple: a room, a few good people, and something worth thinking about. It's an invitation to slow down and connect over some wine, coffee/tea, and treats in a beautiful space.
